Body Language

Israelian rock'n'roll you say? Fuck yeah. This week i already saw Tv Buddhas' show in Bar Mondial. This turned out to be really good again (it was the 2nd time they played there), but due to the late hour the duo didn't play that long and the guitarist suffering from a broken leg couldn't go apeshit like he usually does. He broke his leg in France while doing a solo on his amp, fell off, broke his leg but saved his amp. I love the drum setup; cymbal, snare and floor. I love the guitar riffs; classic rock and metal riffs but a rather rusty and dirty garage sound.

On the 2nd of June the MONOTONIX will terrorize Trix Bar in Antwerp. Hailing from Tel Aviv, this hard-rocking three-piece are likely the most obnoxiously exuberant live act Israel has ever birthed unto unsuspecting mankind. Banned from nearly everywhere they played in their home country, the only possible way for playing live was to leave Israel and unleash their bestial frenzy on the outside world. Last time i had the chance to see their whole set was in Scheld'Apen. The show started in front of the usual stage, but ended in the venue's kitchen as the singer started moving their whole setup over there, while the drummer and the guitarist kept on playing. Stealing beers from the audience, pouring them in his face and pants (oh yeah he doesn't drink at all himself), jumping people in their necks, suicidal dives from everything he could climb on...name it. Musically i can also say their heavily influenced by classic rockers like Thin Lizzy and Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbathian metal and The Sonics' garage sound.
Some tunes on their myspace, youtube proof that the kitchen thing really happened and some pictures should convince you to come and join the Monotonix Experience.
